I was having trouble getting started using the software in Windows7.. every time that I double clicked on the runxheli-x.bat file, it was opening the file in notepad. Using the control panel, and right clicking the file, I was unable to change the linking of this filetype.
Windows was seeing the filetype as a notepad data file and would not run the commands inside. I found a utility to disassociate the file type and allow it to execute the batch commands.
I have removed the file-to-application association (using a utility found on the net: http://www.winhelponline.com/blog/unass ... s-7-vista/) so that .bat is now associated with "unknown application" and everything works.
I am sure this information is found in German on this site, but I was unable to come up with it... hope this helps another English speaker.
Cannot Start Heli-x in Windows 7
Re: Cannot Start Heli-x in Windows 7
I just posted in the previous thread (in German), you can also change the file associations for bat files by running this command in the CMD console (as admin):
To simply view association just type assoc .bat
Somehow it needs to be associated with batfile and would not automatically recognize as such if left unassigned.
Code: Select all
assoc .bat=batfileSomehow it needs to be associated with batfile and would not automatically recognize as such if left unassigned.
