I have a vision+ and I can confirm the DJI remote does not work. I use a Spektrum DX5e and it works fine with the Phantom in Heli-x. Got a generic cable with the 3.5mm male on one end and USB on the other at Hobby King.
I will say that it takes some tweaking of the flight modes to get the sticks to not be too sensitve. Still working on this but overall, its really fun.
