This is typically due to ressourecs problems (or open GL-problems). please try

a) V3.0. 3.0 does need fewer ressources.
b) the airport "Small" in V0.9

Well, I got it to work, hooked up a PS3 controller (should work because it did at someone else), configurated the controls and I had no control of the heli. It was just sitting there and doing nothing while I moved all of my controls. Also, after a few minutes, the FPS decreased from about 1000 to 11. What is the problem now (I don't really know a lot about computers)?

Turn on the stick display to see of the controls are understood by HELI-X

I tried it again today, the controller was recognized, but my MacBook is too weak. After a few minutes of control configuration, the CPU was 97 degrees Celsius.

You might want to try V3.0. It uses much less resources than V0.9 and the CPU can be slowed down be limiting the framerate...
