USB adapter can use only 4 channels [SOLVED] (sort of)

Post by helinoob »

I have a USB adapter that seems to be identical to the one sold by Amazon (listed on the recommended adapters page). The USB vendor ID and device ID are 0401:0401, the device string is "Љ PPM▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒" (probably a problem with character encoding).

It advertises itself as having 5 axes but only 4 are functional. Axis 3 is always 0 and doesn't react to any of 8 channels in my Tx. Axes 0, 1, 2 and 4 are working OK.

I can use it in the 4 axis mode, but then I have to switch flight modes from the keyboard, which is really inconvenient.

Have anybody managed to make all axes work?

Update: I have replaced the adapter with another model. The new one identifies itself as "0b9b:4012 Dipl.-Ing. Stefan Kunde Reflex RC-controller Interface" and it supports 5 axes with all my controllers. It seems to be this one: http://www.mftech.de/usb-interface_en.htm (type II).

It says it is named Љ PPM;
has three digital components Trigger, Thumb, Thumb2;
has five analog components x, y, z, rx, ry;
and there's a configuration file it is using.

Basically the same thing jstest is saying.

The buttons are not functional either BTW.

I now suspect my transmitters (all three of them) output just 4 channels through the trainer jack.
