OpenXR

Post by azaz44 »

Will Heli-X support OpenXR? Is there anything in underlying Java frameworks to support it? It looks like OpenXR will be VR of the future.

I would too like to know if OpenXR will be supported, all of my other flight sims are butter smooth in OpenXR. SteamVR is rubbish and laggy unless you are teathered to the link cable.

I’m using Steam Link to connect directly to Steam VR. That gives me full desktop access. I’ve tested OpenXR with Meta Link and Steam VR/Steam Link. I have not noticed any difference in quality or performance.
What does make a difference?
I use a 5G Ethernet cable between my PC and router. Both the PC and router must support that speed. I also have a WiFi 6e router and a WiFi 6e receiver on my PC. That gives me 2401 Mb/sec connection. My Quest3 is connected to my
PC wirelessly. I’m running at 72Hz and 4K resolution. I thought at first the bottleneck of getting a great non flickering image was my graphics card. It’s a RTX 4070ti Super. The PC and peripherals weren’t the bottleneck. Simply was a high speed Ethernet cable between the PC and the WiFi 6e router. Get Steam Link from the Meta Store from the headset. Update the drivers with the Meta PC app. Then delete it if you don’t want it to run in the background. I hope you’ll be as pleased as I am with as clear an image as the being at the field.
