Help w/ Ubuntu 14.04

I'm running Ubuntu 14.04, with updates (as of yesterday) all installed. I've loaded Java in the console/terminal with the command "sudo apt-get install openjdk-7-jre".

I downloaded linux version of Heli-x and unzipped into my home folder. I clicked on the file "runHELI-X.sh" and it opens the file, but Heli-x never starts.

What do I need to do?

run all commands of the .sh script in a terminal window one line after another. Then you see where it fails
