Autorotation

Post by Surffreund »

Trying autos on a 450-size belt heli has been my main cause of crashes this spring, with a less than 50% success rate. But it IS possible.
However, probably not with the current Heli-X TRex-450 settings.
Try to edit resources\models\helicopter\TRex450.xml and find the value "GearFrictionCoefficientAutorotation" and change it from 0.002 to about 0.0007.
This makes the autos more realistic to me.
Compared to other files, this file appears to miss a value for "StallAngleAutorotation", but probably there is a reasonable default value, as inserting a value did not make a noticeable difference.
