Scale Lama

Post by Love the Lama »

hello, i am enjoying the scale lama a great deal  i can definitely feel that the physics replicate the difference between it and, for example the 600msize Écureuil, especially when practicing auto-rotation.

i note, however, that the main rotor rotates CCW whereas SA, AS and EC machines rotate CW. also, the tail rotor is actually on the right side and has three blades, not four. would an update be coming in the future to reflect these gross variable elements ?

best,

hi again, i see the lama now has a three-blade tail rotor (instead of 4)

main rotor rotation is still CCW - instead it should be CW; and tail rotor should be on the starboard side. is it something i can do in the model file ?

thanks

A previous version had 4 blades? Well, 3 now is fine :)

Guess the rotation direction(s) would be set in the XML file somewhere, just can't check now as I am not at home.
But, aren't the blades looking the wrong way then? While rotating fast this would not be visible but when turning slowly. Also the tail rotor can not be moved to the opposite side like that and would (like the blade orientation) have to be adjusted in the 3D model.
Maybe the original author/modeller is reading this?

that would be great, michael.

… and as JS1 indicated, if we simply reverse the main rotor direction, the blades would be facing the wrong way :o

the other matter is that the tail rotor should be on the starboard side
