I installed the demo version on my Mac (10.15).
On first start, I got a message about missing access rights for the keyboard.
In System Preferences, I gave have the permission "Allow the apps below to monitor input from your keyboard even while using other apps."
(I am not very comfortable with that. It is almost like a key-logger. But this seems to be a Java issue.)
I restarted HELI-X. However, still my keyboard input is not recognized. I tried 8/9 for zoom. No controller is attached to the Mac, yet.
Any ideas?

The Keyboard works only with Controller and model.

The behavior is surprising. I wanted to test the setup while I wait for my USB adapter to arrive.

Different controllers need different keyboard settings. Thus, the keyboard definitions are associated with the controller. hende, they can only be stored and configures when a controller is present.
