Can't get my motor started.

Post by flightsuit »

Hello, I am new here.

I got very excited about Heli-X, downloaded it, installed it, configured the controllers, being sure to assign "idelup1" just like the instructions said, yet I can not get a dang heli to start its dang motor.

Arrrggghhhhh!!!

What could I be doing wrong?

In case it matters, I'm running it on a 17 inch Intel iMac, using version 10.5.6 of OS X. I've tried using the keyboard and my Logitech dual-action analog gamepad. I could try plugging in my Esky Lama V4's TX if that might help.

Thank you in advance for your guidance!

Hi,

interesting.

What is the frame rate (FPS) of the application?

Can you post screenshots of your keyboard and controller settings?

Make sure that you do assign "reset".

I can't get idleup1 to properly assign to a controller button, but I'm not sure if this is a problem with my USB adapter or not.

So I just use the keyboard '1' key instead, it's easy that way and less to worry about!

I might have to try again once I get skillful enough to do inverts.

Hi Karen,

when you're in that dialog that lets you assign controller channels to functions, you can try to flip the switches of your remote - the color of the channel in question should change in the dialog box. If it doesn't, you cannot assign functions with that channel. That should be a fairly reliable way to get functions assigned - but a key just works as well, that's right. :)

I have the same problem DX7 on Macbook pro and G5 ....

Way round it is to tick the invert box on the switch assignments..

i.e. tick the first two boxes and assign idle up / etc.

It doesnt matter where the switches are then, Heli-x just says wherever they are they are on ..

Hope this helps ..

Yeah, no joy in getting channels 5 and 6 of my Tx recognized. I'm not sure if it's a USB adapter problem or something with the settings.

Is there any way of seeing the raw inputs from the USB controller vary in real time -- as with the X/Y/Ry/Rz settings?

There's the calibration dialog - there, all 6 channels are "live". There's one thing you should try: please make sure that you also use all switch channels during calibration (i.e., have them in all 2 or three positions) so Heli-X can figure out their range and values!
