HAVING DIFFICULTY GETTING SKYARTEC NASA 701 RADIO TO WORK

Post by Brian Crawford »

I recently purchased a Skyartec Wasp X3V flybarless helicopter with a NASA701 radio.

I received the cable and USB adapter today and have been trying different settings to make it work properly with the Heli-x simulator but am having difficulties.
I am able to get a helicopter to move/fly and crash but I am having difficulty programing to the settings of how I fly the actual Skyartec Wasp X3V helicopter.

I am new to the RC helicopter sport but want to learn it.

On my NASA 701 radio I have the following sticks :

Left hand has 0-100% throttle control in up/down positions and does not have a centering position (throttle control)
Left hand has rudder control in left to right positions and has a centering position (rudder control)

Right hand has up/down position with centering position (elevator control)
Right hand has left to right positions with centering position (aileron control)

The heli-x controller configuration has the following sticks:

Left hand has collective pitch control
Left hand has Cyclic Roll control

Right Hand has cyclic Nick control
Right hand has Rudder control

Can anyone give me pointers on what I need to do to get the NASA701 radio to act just like it does when I fly the real helicopter?

Thanks,

Brian

Hello Brian,

You have the following correspondences (this is often called Mode 2)

Left stick up/down (throttle control) = Collective Pitch
Left stick left/right (rudder) = Rudder

Right stick up/down (elevator) = cylclic nick control
Right stick left/right (aileron) = cyclic roll control

Have fun

Michael
