Tribute to Nepal earthquake victims
Our hobby of flying RC helicopters is huge fun and I too enjoy every minute of it. But actually we can consider ourselves very lucky for this. Because sometimes we get reminded that especially helicopters perform their most needed tasks under terrible circumstances. One such tragedy was the one of t...

Re: Airport creation guide?
I couldn't find in the heli-x documentation; what is the coordinate system based on? meters? or is it an arbitrary unit? Afaik it is just the units passed on when exporting the OBJ - so usually the base units as in your 3D program. However, Heli-X is considering 1 unit = 1 meter, but not 100% sure ...

Re: Airport creation guide?
Hi Awesome flying skills with that H.250 mosquito! :o and a cool movie! I don't think there is a creation guide for 3D airports. But I can give you some starting points. With your background in video game development it should be easy (even I found it out... glad you liked the garage ;) ) - The name...

Re: Windows doesn't see the controller :(
make sure you got the right USB adapter cable. The Phoenix especially does not work as it uses a proprietary dongle. Other cables come with a small switch for different simulators. Usually any cable suited for FMS will also work with Heli-X. Others may work too. The controller should be recognized s...

Re: Parameters to make the models look like a FP
Why you can't believe a fixed pitch would give you a FP simulation? Exactly that is in fact the very definition of a FP (= Fixed Pitch), at least in the universe of RC helis. Also, I just simply loaded Standard_FP as well as Michael suggested and it DOES behave like a FP heli as expected. Don't know...

Re: model mass
From what I know the mass is loosely related to the original all-up weight. With loosely I think it is normally set to match the real weight, but if necessary adjusted in test flights in combination with all the other parameters to give a better realistic feel.

Re: Lumenier QAV250
Locate the file here in yout Heli-X directory: ..\resources\models\helicopter\H250\H250.xml Flight behavior is not defined there by component specs but directly how the heli should fly using them. The individual parameters begin with the parameter name in <> and end with the name in </>, the actual ...

Re: Lumenier QAV250
Regarding the flight characteristics there seem different views and ofc different setups. Cell count, AUW, prop sizes, motors and ofc FC and ESC settings can make for a broad spectrum. In the sim you can tune the flight characteristics in the XML file of the model to your liking. If that doesn't hel...

Maybe check for new helis in the update menu?... The H.250 quad is already there for some time...

Re: how to start when the software is installed ?
In configuration menu calibrate your radio and unter buttons assign a key for idle up 1 and 2 to start the motor if it doesn't already start automatically.
