Nevermind i got it working, had to click sticks and go through the calibaration.
Flying a heli with a USB gamepad is.... interesting. Just as bad as the RC flight sim i have for my android phone that uses a touch pad joystick,

I was having the same issue, chmod 777 stopped the errors and my gamepad is somewhat working. However the only axis that seems to respond is x (left anologue stick) but it only reads -1 and +1, the rest of the axis that are detected dont do anything in heli x despite it detecting x y z and zr anolog...

I personally would recommend the E-Sky EK2-0905A as I use it myself for simtraining. I would not recommend a Devo7e because the range is quite limited (Walkera says it transmits with about 10mW) and there are too few switches. well, makes me curious I must admit. Within the Smartpropo Plus solution a full stick movement resolved to about 18 to 20 "steps" at 48KHz, and that way the control is much too jerky for training. Even with 96KHz you're limited to about 40 steps, but maybe this is enough, I am curious to ...

I never tried this myself, but I tried Smartpropo-Plus under the Windows OS (with Heli-X) and found the control to be way too unprecise. Maybe this is the cause why development has stopped.
